Will Over 20 Million Chili Most Listeners help FOA Reach our $600,000 Goal?

Since our segment aired on the Nightly New with Lester Holt in Dec 2017, people all over the U.S. have contacted FOA Families of Addicts about starting something like this to help those in their community that have been affected by the chaos of addiction. In the first 6 months after, the FOA founder, Lori Erion, received over 200 inquiries from across the nation. Since then, she receives at least one new ask a week. Our families all over the US are asking for help and FOA has the solution. We need your help to build the support staff needed to help every family in the U.S. that needs it.

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO BRING FOA TO A NATIONAL LEVEL

In order to meet the needs of the nation, capacity building funds are required to further carry out our mission: To educate, empower and embrace friends, families and individuals struggling with addiction by providing support and promoting recovery.

On August 25, FOA will hold its 6th Annual FOA Rally 4 Recovery. This event has grown to over 3,000 attendees and includes over 50 information booths representing treatment providers, county agencies and other resources. We hear that the FOA rally is the largest of its type in ALL of Ohio! The purpose of the rally is to unite the people and resources of the Miami Valley to: raise awareness about substance use disorders and mental health, eliminate stigma and celebrate recovery! Consider donating or being a sponsor for our biggest event of the year!

ABOUT FOA

Lori Erion founded Families of Addicts (FOA) in 2013. A recovering addict and alcoholic with currently 13 years of sobriety, she was desperate to understand her daughter’s heroin addiction – unlike anything she experienced in her own journey. No one could have predicted how the need for such an organization would explode in a matter of just six years. FOA started as a meeting with six people in a small classroom and now holds weekly meetings in four Ohio locations, with a total weekly attendance of over 150 people.

Families of Addicts is a well-respected member of the community and a sought-after resource for addiction, treatment and recovery guidance. FOA is unique because anyone touched by addiction is welcome to attend – family members, people in recovery and those seeking it. Meetings consist of shared knowledge, experiences and advise in open discussion format and professional education and guest speakers - social support and well being for the entire family. FOA has connected hundreds of people to treatment, and fields over 450 (often lengthy) calls annually for help and guidance. FOA is here to ensure that if it were your loved one who needed help, support and referrals would be as immediate as possible.
